We list the best choices in Samsung's current Galaxy ranges.
Reasons to trust KICKmobiles
(KICKmobiles) - Samsung is one of the biggest makers of smartphones in the world. Because of this, it has a huge selection of devices that fit a wide range of budgets and needs. Samsung has something for everyone, from the very expensive Galaxy Z Fold 3 to the cheap Galaxy A55 5G.
There are three different kinds of Samsung phones. Here are the major elements:
Samsung's main top-of-the-line smartphone line is the Galaxy S line. All of its models are made to be waterproof and have the best cameras and lots of power. The latest S22 Ultra is interesting because it comes with an S Pen stylus, which is usually only found on Note devices. That's because the Note line is no longer being made, though the current Ultra is still a part of it.
Samsung's folding phones are part of the Galaxy Z series. They are the most expensive in the company's lineup and have the most recent design innovations. At the moment, this is made up of the Z Flip and Z Fold phones, both of which are in their third generation.
The Samsung Galaxy A is the sub-flagship line. It costs less than the S line but has some of the same design features, like full-screen displays and fingerprint sensors that are hidden under the screen.
With so many phones and smartphones to choose from, it can be hard to figure out which is the best Samsung smartphone for you. So, to help you decide, we've put together a list of our favorites.
Which Samsung phones are the best?
- Samsung Galaxy S22+
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
- Samsung Galaxy A53 5G
Our top selection for the best Samsung phone
For
Strong hardware
Superb cameras
Beautiful 120Hz AMOLED screen
Against
No storage that can grow
It doesn't work with the S pen.
Not a big change from the S21+.
Samsung's 2022 lineup has changed things up. Usually, we'd put the Ultra model at the top of our list, but we think the S22+ will work better for most people this time.
The S22+ is a little smaller than its predecessor, the S21+, and has a more refined design. It's everything we want from an Android flagship.
The camera system is great, with an improved portrait mode and lots of AI features like auto framing and automatic night mode. The screen is big, bright, and has no curved edges. The powerful processor and clean user interface also make the Android experience quick and responsive.
It may not make you want to upgrade right away if you already have an S21, and the fact that it doesn't support the S Pen may bother some people, but this is probably the best choice for those looking for a new Samsung phone.
Samsung smartphones are also recommended by us
While the Samsung Galaxy S22+ is at the top of our list, we recognize that not everyone will find it suitable. For this reason, we also recommend checking out the four devices listed below, which cover a variety of styles and price points.
Large display with adaptive refresh
Impressive camera array
Embedded S Pen stylus
Against
No MicroSD card support
Expensive
The S22 Ultra is the first gadget in the S-series to integrate an S Pen pen. Additionally, support for the stylus has been significantly enhanced, making its functioning smoother than ever before. With the Note series being conspicuously absent as of late, the S22 Ultra appears to be the best option for Note aficionados.
Numerous improvements have been made to the S21 Ultra's already superb camera technology, making it a very capable photographer. If you're serious about photography, you can even shoot 16-bit RAW photos.
Combining this with a strong processor and an extremely huge display, Samsung's S22 Ultra is a triumph.
For
Massive collapsible screen
Outstanding software experience
S Pen support
Against
Screen wrinkles and reflections are visible.
The under-panel camera is substandard.
The Samsung Z Fold 3 is a phone that is destined to attract attention wherever it is used. As with its predecessor, the concept is that it functions as a phone when necessary, but transforms into a tablet when a larger screen is required.
In addition to its folding novelty, the phone features superior hardware and respectable battery life. We would venture to claim that the image quality is sufficient for the majority of users despite the lack of innovation in the camera array.
There are still inherent flaws with folding screen technology, most notably the obvious crease and strange reflections generated by the coating; nevertheless, if you can look past them, the Z Fold 3 is an intriguing device and one of the best foldable smartphones money can buy.
For
front AMOLED touchscreen
Well designed
Effective with robust software
Against
Normal foldable display issues
Compromises made to reach the target pricing
The Z Flip 3 is a smartphone with a foldable display that evokes a retro aesthetic. Remember when you could simply snap your phone shut to lock it? This is now possible with folding screen flip devices such as the Z Fold 3.
The Z Flip 3 is a standard-sized smartphone that folds down into a more pocketable size.
This is our favorite folding-screen flip phone to date, as it features a plethora of excellent design options and impressive specifications. It also has more reasonable pricing.
Unfortunately, this is accompanied by a number of drawbacks, such as mediocre battery life and poor cameras.
For
Superb design and presentation
MicroSD card slot
The IP67 rating
Against
No 3.5mm jack
headphones
The Galaxy A53 5G may not represent a significant improvement over its predecessor, but it's still an excellent mid-range smartphone.
The display is vivid, and the design is streamlined and water-resistant. With a larger battery and very good camera performance in our tests, the value of this product is undeniable.
At its pricing range, it is essential to consider the competitors. Realme and OnePlus provide alternatives with comparable (if not superior) performance at a lower price point than the A53.
Consequently, this is the best option for individuals who desire a contemporary Samsung experience without the flagship pricing. And Samsung's approach to software upgrades is commendable, so this should be an excellent choice for many years to come.
Additional items we considered

When it comes to recommending smartphones, we assess a number of variables, including display clarity, camera quality, battery life, and gaming performance, performing the same fundamental tests whenever a new device is considered for inclusion. We also consider consumer reviews, brand quality, and product value in our evaluations.
In each of our roundups, we also examine other goods that do not make the cut. However, as they may be suitable for certain individuals, we have listed them below.
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S21
- Samsung Galaxy S21+
- Samsung Galaxy A52 5G
