Why Do So Many People Use Their Smartphones Every Day?
Did you know that the average person in the United Kingdom spends a whole day on their phone every week? A fifth of 16-to-24-year-olds spends an astounding seven hours each day online, according to a separate Ofcom survey reported by the Telegraph. That is equivalent to more than two 24-hour days every week. There is, as expected, a significant digital difference between generations. Only 1% of those over the age of 65 and 6% of those between the ages of 55 and 64 report spending more than 50 hours a week online, whether on their phone, computer, laptop, or tablet. This compared to 18 percent of those between the ages of 16 and 25, or over 1,100,000 young people.
