Use a Google account to sign in.

Android is great because it gives you access to thousands of apps and games. You need a Google account to sign in to the Play Store and get to these mobile apps. So, the first thing to do is to set up a Gmail ID. You can set up a Google account in three ways.

Buy Smartphone Online

Create a completely new Google account:

  • Get your new phone going.

  • Choose the language and country

  • Choose your keyboard settings and settings for accessibility

  • Click "Next," and you'll be asked to sign in with your Gmail ID.

  • Click "Make an account."

  • Write your name here

  • Type a username in the "Username" field.

  • Type in and double-check your password

  • Click on "Next."

Add and verify a phone number for your account, if you want to.

  • Get everything set up.

Set up a new Google account with an email address you already have:

  • Go to the sign-in page for your Google account.

  • Click "Make an account."

  • Write your name here

  • Click Instead, use my current email address

  • Enter your current email address

  • Press Next

  • Use the code sent to your existing email to confirm your email address.

  • Click Verify

  • Sign in on your new phone using the login information.

Give people your contacts and media

Follow these steps to move your contacts and media from an old Android phone to a new one.

  • Give both devices a charge

  • Join a wireless network

  • Use the same Google account to sign in on both phones

  • On the old computer

- On the old phone, turn on contact sync.

- Set up the old phone to sync with Google Photos.

- Set up the old phone to sync with Google Drive.

- Go to the settings for WhatsApp and back up your most recent chats and media.

Open Chrome and turn on syncing for your bookmarks, tabs, and passwords.

  • On the new computer

- Contacts, Chrome, Google Photos, and Google Drive will all sync automatically.

Allow protection of privacy

Use face unlock, pattern unlocks, or PIN unlocks on your phone's lock screen to keep other people from using it without your permission.
